Purpose of Verification

Verification on Best of Black 2A (“BB2A”) exists to promote platform integrity, operational efficiency, and trust, while maintaining BB2A’s role as a neutral discovery and marketplace platform.

Verification does not imply endorsement, certification, guarantee of services, or legal compliance beyond what is explicitly stated.

BB2A uses two distinct types of verification, each serving a different operational purpose.

1. Listing Verification

What Listing Verification Means

A Verified Listing indicates that a business, instructor, club, or entity has met BB2A’s requirements for public discovery on the platform at the time of approval after they request to Join the Chamber.

Listing verification confirms eligibility, completeness, and administrative readiness.

How Listing Verification Is Granted

A listing may be marked as Verified when all of the following are met:

  • An active paid listing package is purchased

  • The listing is reviewed and approved by BB2A

  • Required listing fields are completed, including:

    • Listing name

    • Category

    • Location (city/state or address as applicable)

    • Description of services or offerings

    • Required attributes where applicable

  • The listing complies with BB2A platform rules and content standards

Once approved, listing verification may be granted automatically.

Operational Benefits of Listing Verification

Verified listings may receive operational privileges, which may include:

  • The ability to create additional listings under the same ownership

  • The ability to submit listing updates or edits with reduced or bypassed manual review

  • Faster publishing of compliant content

These privileges exist to support efficient platform operation and may be adjusted, limited, or revoked at BB2A’s discretion.

What Listing Verification Does Not Mean

Listing verification does not mean that BB2A:

  • Endorses the listing or its services

  • Guarantees quality, safety, legality, or outcomes

  • Certifies training, credentials, or business practices

  • Confirms long-term conduct or reputation

2. User Verification (Registry Verification)

What User Verification Means

User Verification applies to individuals, not listings.

A Verified User indicates that an individual has demonstrated identity clarity, profile completeness, and consistent platform conduct over time.

User verification functions as a trust signal, not a requirement for participation.

How User Verification Is Granted

User verification is manual and discretionary. It may be granted when all of the following are met:

  • The user has an active paid account or verified ownership relationship

  • The user’s registry profile is complete, including:

    • Real name or clearly identified individual

    • Profile photo

    • Completed “About” section

  • Associated listings are in good standing

  • The user has demonstrated appropriate platform conduct over time

  • No deceptive, misleading, or abusive behavior is observed

User verification is not automatic and may be withheld even when criteria are met.

Operational Benefits of User Verification

Verified users may receive additional platform trust privileges, which may include:

  • Reduced review friction for future listings or updates

  • Eligibility for advanced platform features

  • Priority consideration in platform initiatives

These privileges are conditional and may change at any time.

3. Ongoing Integrity and Loss of Verification

Verification is not permanent.

BB2A may remove or suspend listing or user verification at any time if:

  • Information becomes incomplete or inaccurate

  • Platform rules or Terms of Service are violated

  • Misleading, deceptive, or harmful behavior occurs

  • Identity or ownership changes require revalidation

Material changes to a profile, listing, or ownership structure may result in temporary loss of verification pending review.

4. No Applications, No Guarantees

  • BB2A does not accept applications for verification

  • Verification is not guaranteed by payment alone

  • Verification decisions are final and discretionary

  • BB2A is not required to provide notice or explanation for verification changes

5. Platform Neutrality

Verification does not alter BB2A’s role as a neutral platform.

All listings and users operate independently.
All engagements, services, training, or transactions occur solely between users and vendors.

6. Visual Indicators of Verification

Verification Checkmark

When verification is granted, BB2A displays a verification checkmark icon as a visual indicator on the platform.

  • Listing Verification Checkmark

    • Appears next to the listing name

    • Indicates the listing has been verified under BB2A’s Listing Verification standards at the time of approval

  • User Verification Checkmark

    • Appears next to the user’s name on registry pages, profiles, and associated areas

    • Indicates the individual has been verified under BB2A’s User Verification standards

The presence of a checkmark is a platform trust signal only and does not imply endorsement, certification, legal compliance, or superiority over other listings or users.

Summary

  • Listing Verification = Paid Access + Structural Integrity + Operational Privileges

  • User Verification = Paid Access + Ongoing Integrity + Earned Trust

Verification enables efficiency — not endorsement.
