Octane
Award-winning Strategist | Builder | Cultural Architect
My father, a Black Appalachian and grandmaster in multiple martial arts disciplines who operated academies across several states—taught me how to defend myself. His lessons, passed down from his father before him, were steeped in Black American legacy and cultural tradition. I believe that my lineage and lived experience, combined with tactical luxury, business, and systems, are what give our heritage deeper meaning. I created Best of Black 2A to build a digital-forward service that champions self-defense as both skill and birthright.

Octane forged Best of Black 2A as a digital house for mastery, a tactical, data-driven network designed to elevate the visibility, economics, and lineage of Black American self-defense professionals. With more than two decades of experience in systems leadership and luxury brand sales, she merges operational precision with cultural intelligence to build infrastructure where none previously existed.
Her work has been publicly recognized across the firearms community. During a February 2026 live broadcast, Black Gun Owners Magazine described Best of Black 2A as:
“An extremely valuable resource for our community.”
— Black Gun Owners Magazine, Instagram Live (Feb 2026)
They further noted:
“One of the only nationwide resources of its type.”
— Black Gun Owners Magazine, Instagram Live (Feb 2026)
And about Octane herself:
“She actually has a wealth of knowledge about gun clubs… I’ve read some of her writing. All of it is great.”
— Black Gun Owners Magazine, Instagram Live (Feb 2026)
This recognition aligns with her mission: to treat visibility, accuracy, and community infrastructure as heritage work.
She personally architected and built the full digital infrastructure of Best of Black 2A v2.0—a multivendor, commerce-enabled ecosystem integrating verified firearm professional profiles, courses & bookings, verification, and marketing automation. This end-to-end system, designed entirely in-house, demonstrates her fluency across strategy, design, and technology and solidifies her as both founder and systems engineer of her own enterprise. Her leadership is disciplined yet imaginative, rooted in the belief that command begins with skill.
Every framework within the BB2A ecosystem, from The Chamber’s professional tiers such as Industrinomics™ to The Lineageship™ pathways for emerging gun owners, reflects her commitment to infrastructure, elevation, and enduring legacy. Octane earned her degree in Interdisciplinary Studies: Business Strategy and Information Systems from New York Institute of Technology. Her cultural grounding runs deep. Rooted in the Appalachian mountains of Southwest Virginia, she has been tempered by the sharp edge of a career honed in New York City and grounded by life on Long “Strong” Island.
Before founding Best of Black 2A, Octane served in senior systems and project leadership roles across the technology sector and later led performance and brand development initiatives in luxury retail. Her cross-disciplinary experience shaped the operational precision and human-centered design that define the BB2A platform.
